The Appleton Area School District’s House Construction class engages community partnerships that culminate in a win-win-win for all involved. This partnership spans local businesses and contractors, nonprofits, schools, and instructors in an effort to show students hands-on, real-world experience in all aspects of the construction field.
2019-20
We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity and are excited to see this year's build!
2018-19
For over ten
years AASD students, under the direction of a district teacher,
have built a home for the Appleton Housing Authority. For the 2017-2018 school
year the district partnered with the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity to build a house during the first
semester, and renovate a second house during the second semester.
The partnership with Habitat for Humanity was generously sponsored for the 2018-19 school year by
Boldt, a nationally ranked general contractor with more than 2,000 employees and 13 locations.
Students from East, North, and West high schools spend two hours each school day with a teacher, Marcus McGuire, building the house.
