Substitutes

Quality substitutes are an important part of our student's school day. We strive to maintain a substitute list of at least 300 dependable, qualified, and dedicated teachers and support staff who will work to ensure a high quality education.

AASD staff work with at least 16,000 students every day during our school year. It takes a lot of teachers and support staff to teach that many learners, and it takes a lot of substitutes to stand in when needed. During our busiest time, we can require 100 or more substitute teachers per day.

Benefits of Substituting within the AASD

  • Flexible schedule
  • Welcoming school atmosphere
  • Competitive compensation
  • Job variety
  • Training opportunities
  • Rewarding work
  • Welcoming environment

There is a high demand for qualified substitutes within the AASD.
