Canvas is a Learning Management System (LMS) used by select middle and high school classes in the Appleton Area School District.

Through Canvas, teachers can create an online location for students to access course content, submit assignments, participate in discussions, collaborate with classmates, and find ways to explore a class topic further.

Parents and guardians can even access Canvas to view information about the class.

For Parents 

If your child is using Canvas in their classes, information regarding your child's instructional program is now available to you as an "observer." Canvas will provide grade-book information as well as updates on upcoming and/or late assignments, the calendar of activities for the course and even insight into the content shared with the students. As we become accustomed to this reporting tool, we will provide resources to support parents when learning aspects of Canvas.  

A parent account allows parents to observe the courses of students they are linked to, as well as receive the same notifications the student would.
