Appleton North and Tesla Charter School were recognized as Level 2 Advanced Placement Pacesetter schools for impressive student AP access and excellence in AP exam scores in the State of Wisconsin during the 2015-16 school year. Appleton East High School, Appleton Career Academy and Appleton West were recognized as Level 3 Advanced Placement Pacesetter Schools.

This honor comes from the Wisconsin Advanced Placement Advisory Council (WAPAC). The impetus of this recognition is to recognize access and excellence regarding Advanced Placement. Pacesetter schools have provided impressive student access to AP courses and posted excellent AP exam results.

The Pacesetter Award is unique to Wisconsin and emerged from WAPAC members who felt that many outstanding school districts in our state lacked recognition for AP excellence. In particular, WAPAC was interested in highlighting districts that are seldom recognized for their excellence in AP.

Level 2: % taking exams > 20% (school’s population) and % of scores 3 or above > 65%.

Level 3: % taking exams > 10% (school’s population) and % of scores 3 or above > 60%.
