Valley Transit routes serving area schools

Appleton’s public and parochial middle and high school students ride FREE during the school year. Students must show the bus driver a valid Student ID to ride.Valley Transit

Ride FREE Monday – Saturday on all regular bus routes, including Tripper routes. These peak hour routes offer limited service and do not operate summers or weekends. Rides under this program are supported by AASD.

Procedure

AASD area middle and high school students (grades 7-12) may ride the bus for no charge while school is in session by showing their un-altered, un-mutilated, current year photo ID. Without said ID, the current fare applies. 

Conduct

Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Examples of disruptive behavior include, but are not limited to:

  • Loud or offensive language
  • Littering
  • Loitering
  • Vandalism
  • Moving from seat to seat
  • Extending or throwing any object out the bus window
  • Fare or student ID fraud

Consequences

Students who do not abide by the code of conduct will be required to surrender their student ID to the driver or supervisor. The driver will report the incident to Valley Transit. Valley Transit will determine the appropriate length of a service suspension, notify the appropriate school, and return the ID to the school. Any subsequent violations will result in loss of bus service for the remainder of the school year.
