House Construction Class

House Construction Class

The Appleton Area School District’s House Construction class engages community partnerships that culminate in a win-win-win for all involved. This partnership spans local businesses and contractors, nonprofits, schools, and instructors in an effort to show students hands-on, real-world experience in all aspects of the construction field.

We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity and are excited to see this year's build!

For over ten years AASD students, under the direction of a district teacher, have built a home for the Appleton Housing Authority. For the 2017-2018 school year the district partnered with the Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity to build a house during the first semester, and renovate a second house during the second semester.

The partnership with Habitat for Humanity was generously sponsored for the 2018-19 school year by Boldt, a nationally ranked general contractor with more than 2,000 employees and 13 locations.

Students from East, North, and West high schools spend two hours each school day with a teacher, Marcus McGuire, building the house.
