New Launch Studio at East Officially Opens
Posted on 10/24/2018
The Launch Studio recently integrated into Appleton East High School’s library will provide students, teachers, parents, and outside employers a flexible, dynamic space to connect with one another. The Studio will help students discover their true passion for their future academic and career plans.

The new Launch Studio at Appleton East High School is an innovative venue for students, teachers, and parents to make real world, face-to-face connections with business professionals representing high demand careers in the New North. It’s intended to promote career awareness and exploration with high impact experiences for high school students.

Each Appleton high school will have a launch studio with East High School being the first. Now there will be a place where businesses, educators, and students can create interactions that help students cultivate their own unique vision for their post-high school success. The Launch Studios will help businesses build closer ties with future local talent. These connections will positively impact the talent shortages employers in our area are experiencing.

Gary Jahnke, owner of Huzzard Technologies states, “the first Launch Studio within the Appleton public high schools is going to be a vibrant hub where the community and AASD students come together in the spirit of career-based learning.”

From Thrivent Financial, Karen Coonen, expresses the same feelings towards this opportunity, “the Launch Studio is a great example of how a community’s educational and business sectors can partner to create a win for students, teachers, businesses, and the community overall.”

This dynamic new space was made possible because of direct financial support from The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America and the Appleton Education Foundation.

Our supporting business partners, Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital, CMD Corporation, Great Northern, Huzzard Technologies, Miller Electric Mfg LLC, Pierce Manufacturing, and Thrivent Financial were also instrumental in the creation of the Launch Studios.
